Do I qualify for ECO4 Funding?

What is ECO?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO), first introduced in 2013, is an energy efficiency scheme for Great Britain. ECO places legal obligations on larger energy suppliers to deliver energy efficiency measures to domestic premises. It focuses on insulation and heating measures and supports vulnerable consumer groups. ECO is intended to assist in reducing carbon emissions, maintaining security of energy supply and reducing fuel poverty.

ECO4 is the latest phase of the scheme and is due to start in 2022. It will run until 2026 and will have a particular focus on improving the energy efficiency of the UK’s housing stock.

Do I qualify for ECO4 Funding?

Great news – the qualifying criteria has been widened from the last funding grant to include MORE benefits. But what does that mean to you? Very simply put, if you are in receipt of one of the following qualifying benefits then you qualify for funding and we can help you…

  • Income Support
  • Child Benefit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit
  • Pension Credit
  • Income related ESA
  • Income related JSA
  • Universal Credit

In order to be approved for the grant, somebody living at the property must also be in receipt of one or more of the qualifying benefits listed here.

This is a great step forward as it really does widen the amount of householders who qualify for ECO funding.  So, if in the past you have missed out on any insulation measures you will now qualify!

What if I don’t receive any of the above benefits but I still want my home insulating for free?

We can still help you if you have a low household income and live in a property with a low Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating!! The ECO4 funding grant allows energy companies to deliver up to 25% of their obligation via ‘flexible eligibility’. This allows local authorities to publish a statement of intent on their website which outlines the criteria for homeowners and tenants to quality for funding outside the list of qualifying benefits. Here at ECO Providers, we are working very closely with numerous Local Authorities to ensure we can deliver as much Eco funded measures. Get in touch with us now to see if we are working with your Local Authority!
