The brief
Keeping more energy — and resources — on site.
The Kenilworth Centre provides space for youth groups, workshops and community activities. Rising energy costs prompted its management team to explore ways to reduce demand and generate renewable electricity on site.
Solar PV formed part of a wider energy improvement project that also included insulation upgrades and low-energy LED lighting. The aim was to lower running costs while supporting the centre’s environmental commitments.

Projected performance
More electricity generated on site.
Less bought from the grid.
Figures are the estimates published for this project, not live meter readings or a guarantee. Actual generation, carbon savings and financial benefit depend on weather, usage, tariffs and system performance.
Using solar electricity on site can reduce the amount purchased from the grid and help lower electricity costs. We assess each building individually and explain the assumptions behind its forecast.

The challenge & our approach
Keeping the community centre open.
Installation had to fit around youth groups, gatherings and the centre’s everyday activities. Phased work and scheduling during quieter periods helped minimise disruption. Careful panel placement made use of all four roof aspects.
